Meals on Wheels provides a subsidized meal delivery service for local clients. With support from Northern Health, NEAT cooks five dinners each week along with soup, salad, and dessert. Meals are tailored to meet a variety of dietary considerations. Dinners are delivered by volunteers Monday (1), Tuesday (2), and Thursday (2) between 4:00 and 5:00pm.

Meals cost $15 each and are subsidized to $7 each. Financial support is available for those that require it through the Seniors Care Foundation.

VOLUNTEERS !

Meals on Wheels relies on volunteers to get meals to all of our clients. There are daytime and delivery shifts available – many hands make light work & we love all the help we can get. All shifts are at the Fort St John Curling Club.

As a volunteer you have a choice of which shifts to fill. Your options include:
Kitchen (cooking/packaging) support from 9am – 12pm & 1pm – 4pm

Deliveries are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday starting at 4pm.
Upon delivery it is suggested that you spend some time visiting with the clients as a way to further enrich their day. This is strongly recommended although not mandatory. Volunteers will be required to maintain a food safety log which can be filed at pick up locations at the end of each week.
