Let’s go WILD with NEAT’s Pro-D Camps
School is back in session and that means only 1 thing…it’s time to start planning for the 7 Pro-D days your child will have this year. You’re in luck! After an amazingly WILD summer the NEAT Team is ready to take the show on the road and fill the school year with new and old wild adventures!
This years NEAT Pro-D Camps will see our Wildlings back in Fish Creek Community Forest on Friday, September 20 & Friday, May 8th.
We will be off to the farm, Chambers Farm that is, for a weenie roast, s’mores, a hay ride and, of course, a whole lot of animal feeding on Friday, October 25.
Wildlings will be on the bus – BC Transit, that is, to visit the Community Forest and then off to the Fort St. John Hospital (Wildlings can bring their lunch or you can send money to purchase lunch at the cafe’) where they will have a little tour and spend some time decorating cookies with some special friends on Friday, November 29.
2020 will see the Wildlings loose in the community. On Friday, January 24, Wildlings will visit the FSJ Public Library, Peace Gallery North, stop for a little treat in the North Peace Cultural Centre, (Wildlings can bring their lunch or you can send money to purchase lunch at the cafe’) spend some time in the Aboriginal Artist Market, drop of some items to our friends at the FSJ Women’s Resource (please send a non-perishable item with your child/ren) and then off to the North Peace Leisure Pool for some fun!
Monday, January 27 our Wildlings will wander over to the Pomeroy Sports Centre for a tour of the facility, a tour of the Fort St. John Visitor’s Centre, a treat from the Cafe’ (Wildlings can bring their lunch or you can send money to purchase lunch at the cafe’) and then we will hit the ice for 2 hours of skating fun (PLEASE SEND SKATES IF YOU HAVE THEM)!
On Monday, February 24, Wildlings will be tackling food waste at a TBD location. Candied orange peels, pickled watermelon rind, and carrot skin chips are just a few of the things on our menu!
