Drone Applications in Regenerative Agriculture
October 4, 2020 @ 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm$10
Join Blackbird Environmental and Neat’s Northern Co-Hort on Sunday October 4, 2020 from 1-6 pm to learn about Drone Applications in Regenerative Agriculture at Canadian Acres in Charlie Lake.
Groups will be assigned to rotate through 4 stations to learn how to fly a drone, how to assess the data collected, connect it to personal observations and apply it to land management decisions. Clay and Katy Peck have been implementing Regenerative Agriculture practices since they started their homestead in the Peace River Valley and are excited to share what they have learned by combining personal observation with aerial imagery to deepen their understanding of and relationship with their land.
Blackbird Environmental has been working with agricultural producers in the Peace region to bring cost effective expertise and data collection to their operations since 2013. Blackbird has become a regional leader at proving and adapting methodologies for the use of drones in agricultural operations in the Peace. Their staff are certified drone pilots with Transport Canada and are experienced with the rules and regulations for operating drones privately and commercially.
Space is limited due to Covid-19 restrictions, we ask you to consider sending a representative from your farm to attend. An investment of $10 will ensure you a space at the workshop and a bowl of hot beef or vegetarian chili catered by Coolbeans Cafe.
During registration, please indicate the commodity you produce and if you own a specific drone that you have questions about so we can support you during the workshop.
