The Community Can is entering it’s fifth year and it’s going to be better than ever!
Annually, NEAT collects donations of food from the community to preserve and donate to the Salvation Army and Women’s Resources. Since 2014, we have canned and donated more than 1500 jars of food.
How Can You Help?
We are accepting donations of food and canning supplies. Frozen berries, extra carrots, beets, beans, apples and cherries are all welcome additions to our line up and will be jammed, jellied, pickled, and otherwise preserved for some of our most vulnerable residents.
We also love volunteer hands on canning day. These Saturdays start at 9am and aim to be done around 5. Volunteers are welcome for a couple of hours at a time, or feel free to spend the day. Everyone is welcome and no canning experience is necessary (it’s actually a really great day to learn!).
