Fort Nelson will get their chance to support local recycling.  You can bring all of your recyclables to the Town Hall on Saturday, February 4th, 2012 from 8am to 1pm.  The Northern Environmental Action Team (NEAT), with the help of Roseanu Transport, will have them recycled!!

The following is a list of items that can be recycled at this event and a few things that can not:

BEVERAGE CONTAINERS

    Empty and rinse all containers. Flatten cartons.

RECYCLABLE

    Cartons and boxes
    Plastic bottles and jugs
    Aluminium cans
    Glass beverage containers (e.g. beer bottles)
    Tetra paks (milk, soy and juice)

NOT RECYCLABLE

    Broken glass beverage containers

BATTERIES

     Clean and undamaged batteries. Sort batteries according to type.

RECYCLABLE

    Lead-acid batteries (e.g. automotive batteries)
    Rechargeable batteries
    Non-rechargeable batteries

NOT RECYCLABLE

    Broken or damaged batteries

BOXBOARD

    Flatten boxes. Remove lids and liners.

RECYCLABLE

    Cereal and cracker boxes (remove liners)
    Egg cartons
    Frozen juice containers (tin lids removed)
    Paper bags
    Shoe boxes
    Paper towel / toilet paper rolls

NOT RECYCLABLE

    Boxboard soiled with motor oil, paint or food/grease

CARDBOARD

    Flatten boxes and remove any packing material.

RECYCLABLE

    Appliance boxes
    Moving boxes
    Pizza boxes

    Styrofoam
    Foam packing material
    Cardboard soiled with motor oil, water or grease

    Clean and undamaged. Remove electrical cords and monitor bases.

    Compact fluorescent lightbulbs (CFL's)

METALS

Small quantities of all types of scrap metal.

    Ferrous metal (e.g. steel)
    Non-ferrous metal (e.g. aluminum, copper, brass, tin)

PAPER

    Sort newspaper and flyers separately. Secure shredded paper in plastic bags.

RECYCLABLE

    Catalogues and magazines
    Mail and envelopes (plastic window OK)
    Newspaper and flyers (glossy OK)

    Detergent bottles, flower pots, milk jugs, shampoo bottles, spray     bottles, yogurt and margarine tubs
