Glass Recycling April 1st

Back by  popular demand, glass will again be accepted for recycling.  On April 1st, Eco-Depot Recycling has announced that recylcing depots in the region will again be accepting glass bottles and jars that were food containers.  Please ensure your glass food containers are clean and free of food residue.  You will also need to remove all labels and lids from the glass.  Any glass bottle that required a deposit at the time of purchase will still be recycled at the local bottle drops.

NOTE:  Items that are not included are:  drinking glasses, mirrors, windows, plate glass, and ceramics.

If you are a curbside recycling customer in Fort St. John, you have been included too.  You should place your glass containers in a reusable box and place it beside your blue bags on collection day.  Please use a box that will not be affected by moisture on the ground.  Cardboard tends to collapse when it gets wet.

Bin Sites will not be accepting glass at this time.  Eco-Depot is currently working on developing alternative collection methods to reduce contamination.  At that time, glass collection at the bin sites will resume.  We will be sure to let you know.  Have fun recycling that glass again!
